Week 5: Just for a Good Cause

Whud is it?

It's a semi-formal Gala with live jazz, tasty hor d'oeuvres, and poker (and open-bar)! I've donated one of my photographs for the charity art auction. Proceeds will be going to Salama Shield, a small and focused NGO that teaches sustainable health and life initiatives to specific areas of eastern Africa. If this sounds like your kind of event and cause, please visit the Salama Shield web site for more information, grab a ticket, and join me at the event!

Cheers!

Week 5: Just for More Fun

Whud is it?

It's a $1000 sundae made with "5 scoops of the richest Tahitian vanilla bean ice cream infused with Madagascar vanilla and covered in 23K edible gold leaf, the sundae is drizzled with the world's most expensive chocolate, Amedei Porceleana, and covered with chunks of rare Chuao chocolate, which is from cocoa beans harvested by the Caribbean Sea on Venezuela's coast. The masterpiece is suffused with exotic candied fruits from Paris, gold dragets, truffles and Marzipan Cherries. It is topped with a tiny glass bowl of Grand Passion Caviar, an exclusive dessert caviar, made of salt-free American Golden caviar, known for its sparkling golden color. It's sweetened and infused with fresh passion fruit, orange and Armagnac. The sundae is served in a baccarat Harcourt crystal goblet with an 18K gold spoon to partake in the indulgenceserved with a petite mother of pearl spoon and topped with a gilded sugar flower by Ron Ben-Israel."

Week 4: Answer

Did you knwo that VELCRO was invented by a Swiss hiker/geek? After coming in from a walk, he pulled a burdock that had attached itself to his clothing and then put it under the microscope. You can read more about the inventor George de Mestral here.

Congrats to those that scored!
